Career.supersecrets is seeking dedicated and experienced Professional Drivers to join our network, supporting key logistics operations within the bustling Tin Can Island, Apapa area. This is a crucial role for a logistics company client, ensuring the timely and safe transportation of goods, contributing significantly to the efficiency of the supply chain. We are looking for individuals who are not only skilled behind the wheel but also possess a strong sense of responsibility, excellent road navigation abilities, and a commitment to vehicle maintenance and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport goods and materials to designated locations within Tin Can Island, Apapa, and surrounding areas as required.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, documenting any issues or maintenance needs.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure proper functioning, including regular checks of oil, fuel, water, tyres, and lights.
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, logistics coordinators, and clients regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Assist with basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor repairs on the road when necessary.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously during all interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G/E/C, depending on vehicle type)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Proven experience driving commercial vehicles (vans, trucks)
- Excellent knowledge of Apapa and Lagos road networks
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and road safety regulations
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy packages/cargo when required
- High level of responsibility and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/GCE or equivalent education
- Defensive driving certification
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and logistics software
- Previous experience working for a logistics or shipping company
- Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa)
