Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.) to transport goods to various locations as per delivery schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle maintenance records, and fuel consumption reports.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and clients regarding delivery status or any issues encountered.
- Handle delivery documentation, including waybills, invoices, and proofs of delivery.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Represent the company professionally during all interactions with clients and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G/E and above, depending on vehicle type)
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Strong knowledge of Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos, and surrounding routes.
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and prolonged driving hours.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving for a logistics or e-commerce company.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems and mobile mapping applications.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor repairs.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and local languages.
- Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSCE).
