Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional, reliable, and experienced live-in Driver to provide dedicated domestic and household transportation services to a prominent family residing in the Aso Rock area of Abuja. This is a crucial role requiring exceptional driving skills, an unwavering commitment to safety, and a deep understanding of discretion and confidentiality. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the principals and their family members reach their destinations safely, punctually, and comfortably. This position demands flexibility, a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance, and a willingness to integrate seamlessly into a private household environment. You will manage daily commutes, school runs, errands, official appointments, and occasional longer-distance travel, all while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and personal conduct. Beyond driving, the role involves diligent care of the assigned vehicle(s), ensuring they are always in pristine condition, roadworthy, and regularly serviced. Knowledge of Abuja’s road networks, traffic patterns, and alternative routes is essential. Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, reliable, and punctual transportation for principals, family members, and guests as required.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles; maintain vehicle cleanliness and conduct regular maintenance checks (fuel, oil, tires, lights, etc.).
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company/household policies.
- Plan efficient routes, considering traffic and road conditions, to ensure timely arrival at destinations.
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage, groceries, or other items as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion regarding all household affairs and travel details.
- Keep accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and service schedules.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with principals and other household staff.
- Be available for duties outside of standard hours, including evenings and weekends, given the live-in nature of the role.
- Perform various errands as instructed, such as picking up dry cleaning, making purchases, or delivering packages.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate or private household setting.
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja's road networks and surrounding areas.
- Proficiency in basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of defensive driving techniques.
