Job Description
Nampak is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Line Supervisor to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Bryanston, Gauteng. This critical role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of a designated production line, ensuring optimal efficiency, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. The Production Line Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of production operators, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production line workers, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor production output, adjust workflows, and reallocate resources as needed to meet daily targets and deadlines.
- Enforce safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Conduct regular quality checks on products to ensure they meet specifications and troubleshoot any issues proactively.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to the production team.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Maintain accurate production records, including downtime, output, and quality control data.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and departments (e.g., maintenance, quality control, logistics) to optimize overall plant operations.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and coordinate with maintenance staff for larger repairs.
- Prepare daily production reports and communicate operational status to management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and quality control standards.
- Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Sound knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems relevant to manufacturing.
- First Aid and Safety Officer certification.
