Key Responsibilities
- Assist the patient with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) as instructed.
- Administer prescribed oral medications and provide reminders for medication schedules.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensure adequate hydration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for the patient.
- Provide companionship and engage in light recreational activities with the patient.
- Assist with transferring and positioning patients to prevent pressure sores.
- Accurately document all care provided and report any significant changes in the patient's condition to relevant family members or medical contacts.
- Support the patient with light exercises or walks as advised by a healthcare professional.
Required Skills
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a private care or hospital setting
- Proficiency in basic first aid and CPR
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities
- Good time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience caring for elderly patients or individuals with specific chronic conditions
