Job Description

Pacesetters Academy Kuje is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Primary School Teacher to join our vibrant academic community. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to shape the foundational educational experiences of young children, instilling in them a lifelong love for learning and discovery. As a Primary School Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons across a comprehensive range of subjects, including Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Social Studies, and Creative Arts, to students in the primary age group. You will play a pivotal role in creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and supported to thrive academically and personally. Your daily activities will involve meticulous lesson planning, effective classroom management, continuous student assessment to track progress, and open, regular communication with parents to discuss student development and address individual learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and national standards.
  • Create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative methods and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing supportive interventions.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum, share best practices, and plan school-wide activities.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development workshops, and extracurricular activities.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting respect, discipline, and cooperation among students.
  • Prepare teaching materials, resources, and visual aids to enhance the learning experience.
  • Stay updated with current educational trends and incorporate innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, attendance, and assessment data.
  • Safeguard the welfare of all students and adhere to school policies and procedures.

  • Previous experience teaching in a reputable primary school in Nigeria, particularly in Abuja.
