Maputo International School (MIS) is seeking a dedicated, innovative, and enthusiastic Primary School Teacher to become an integral part of our esteemed faculty. Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons across all primary curriculum areas (e.g., English, Math, Science, Social Studies).
- Develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within a multicultural classroom.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and inquiry-based learning.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, specialists, and support staff to enhance student learning and well-being.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and development.
- Participate in curriculum development, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, including recess, lunch, and school events.
- Contribute to the school's extracurricular program or community initiatives.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field with a teaching qualification/certification.
- Demonstrated experience teaching in a primary school setting, preferably in an international school environment.
- Strong understanding of child development and primary pedagogical best practices.
- Excellent classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning atmosphere.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education or a relevant specialization.
- Experience with inquiry-based learning frameworks (e.g., PYP, IPC).
