Job Description
Chi Farms is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Poultry Farm Supervisor to join our team in Maryland, Lagos. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of a poultry farm, ensuring optimal bird health, productivity, and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of poultry farming practices, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of poultry farm operations, from chick placement to harvesting and processing. This is an on-site role requiring your physical presence at the farm location.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing all aspects of poultry farm operations, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and general farm maintenance.
- Monitoring bird health and implementing preventative measures to minimize disease outbreaks.
- Managing farm workers, assigning tasks, and ensuring compliance with farm procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records of bird mortality, feed consumption, and other relevant data.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant biosecurity protocols and regulations.
- Implementing and monitoring farm improvement projects aimed at increasing productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborating with other farm supervisors and management personnel to ensure smooth farm operations.
- Ordering supplies and materials as needed and managing farm inventory.
- Performing regular inspections of the farm facilities and equipment to ensure optimal working conditions.
- Addressing any issues or problems that arise promptly and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Poultry Farm Supervisor or similar role.
- Comprehensive understanding of poultry farming practices, including nutrition, breeding, and disease control.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and data analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of biosecurity measures and regulations.
