Job Description
Federal Polytechnic Bauchi invites applications from suitably qualified, innovative, and passionate individuals to join our esteemed faculty as Polytechnic Lecturers. We are seeking dynamic educators and researchers across various departments, including but not limited to Engineering Technology (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical), Science and Computer Studies, Environmental Technology, Business Studies, and General Studies. This pivotal role involves delivering high-quality instruction, fostering an engaging learning environment, and contributing to the academic and professional development of our students. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing the polytechnic’s curriculum, conducting relevant research, and engaging in community service. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students.
- Prepare comprehensive course materials, assignments, and assessments in line with the polytechnic’s curriculum and NBT’s guidelines.
- Evaluate student performance through continuous assessment, examinations, and project supervision.
- Mentor and guide students in their academic and career development, providing professional advice and support.
- Engage in relevant research activities, publish findings in reputable journals, and present at conferences.
- Participate in curriculum review and development to ensure programmes remain current and relevant to industry needs.
- Contribute to departmental and institutional administrative duties, including committee work and student advisory roles.
- Supervise student industrial work experience scheme (SIWES) and final year projects.
- Participate in outreach and community service programmes.
- Adhere to all academic regulations and professional ethics of the institution and the teaching profession.
