Job Description
The South African Police Service is seeking highly motivated, disciplined, and community-oriented individuals to join our ranks as Police Officers in Kliprand, Northern Cape. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visible patrols to deter criminal activity, maintain public order, and respond to incidents.
- Investigate criminal cases, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and compile comprehensive reports.
- Apprehend and arrest suspects, adhering strictly to legal procedures and human rights protocols.
- Respond to emergency calls, provide immediate assistance, and coordinate with other emergency services.
- Engage with community members, participate in crime prevention initiatives, and foster positive police-community relations.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports, affidavits, and dockets for prosecution.
- Attend court proceedings and provide testimony as required.
- Uphold the Code of Conduct and the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs.
Required Skills
- South African Citizenship
- Valid South African Identity Document
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate or equivalent
- No criminal record or pending cases
- Valid driver's license (Code B or higher) is advantageous
- Physical fitness and ability to pass fitness assessments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
- High level of integrity, honesty, and discipline
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging environments
- Basic computer literacy for administrative tasks and report writing
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in security services or community policing forums
- A tertiary qualification in Law, Criminology, or Public Administration
- Proficiency in additional official South African languages, particularly those prevalent in the Northern Cape.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
