NPD Ltd, a leading force in Rwandan construction, is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Plumber Helper to join our dynamic project team on a key construction site in Gatsibo, Eastern Province. This is a foundational training role designed for individuals with little to no prior plumbing experience but possessing a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and an unwavering eagerness to learn.
As a Plumber Helper, you will work directly under the guidance of experienced plumbers and foremen, absorbing critical knowledge and developing practical skills that are essential for a successful career in plumbing. This role is far more than just assisting; it’s an immersive learning opportunity where you’ll be taught the fundamental principles of plumbing systems, safety protocols specific to construction environments, and the proper handling of tools and materials. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed plumbers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems on the construction site.
- Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from work areas as directed.
- Prepare work areas by clearing obstacles and ensuring a safe and organized environment.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to high standards.
- Learn to identify and differentiate various plumbing components and materials.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines diligently to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Support plumbers in basic tasks such as cutting, threading, and joining pipes.
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned by the site supervisor or lead plumber.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness and eagerness to learn the plumbing trade.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Good physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality in attendance.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills in English or Kinyarwanda.
