Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily nursery operations, including plant propagation, potting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest/disease control.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels, quality control, and efficient rotation of plant material.
- Develop and implement effective watering schedules, fertilization programs, and integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.
- Lead, train, and supervise nursery staff, fostering a productive, safe, and positive working environment.
- Monitor plant health and growth, identifying and addressing issues promptly to maintain optimal stock quality.
- Coordinate sales activities, assist customers with plant selection, and provide expert horticultural advice.
- Manage nursery budgets, track expenses, and contribute to sales forecasting and revenue generation.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain and optimize nursery infrastructure, including greenhouses, shade nets, and irrigation systems.
- Identify opportunities for new plant varieties and market trends to expand the nursery's offerings.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in plant nursery management or a similar horticultural role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of plant species, propagation techniques, and cultural requirements.
- Proficiency in pest and disease identification and management strategies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to operate and maintain nursery equipment.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
