Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute photography assignments for a wide range of events (e.g., conferences, weddings, concerts, gala dinners) and commercial projects (e.g., product photography, corporate headshots, marketing campaigns, real estate).
- Consult thoroughly with clients to understand their specific vision, objectives, target audience, and desired photographic style for each project.
- Utilize professional-grade camera equipment, lenses, lighting, and accessories to capture high-resolution, impactful images that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Perform comprehensive post-production work, including meticulous culling, precise colour correction, expert retouching, and creative image manipulation using industry-standard software like Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
- Ensure timely and organized delivery of edited images in specified formats and resolutions, adhering strictly to agreed-upon deadlines and client guidelines.
- Manage all project logistics, including proactive scheduling, equipment transport, efficient setup, careful breakdown, and secure storage of gear.
- Maintain a strong, up-to-date understanding of current photography trends, cutting-edge techniques, and advancements in photographic equipment.
- Cultivate and maintain positive, professional client relationships, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and fostering opportunities for repeat business and referrals.
- Protect and securely back up all photographic assets throughout the entire project lifecycle, implementing robust data management protocols.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as an Events and Commercial Photographer, demonstrated through a strong, diverse, and professional portfolio.
- Exceptional technical proficiency with professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras, a range of lenses, and various lighting setups (natural light, studio strobes, on-location flash systems).
- Expertise in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for advanced photo editing, manipulation, and high-end retouching.
- Strong understanding of composition, dynamic lighting principles, colour theory, and visual storytelling techniques.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse clients, subjects, and event organizers.
- Ability to work independently, proactively manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to different shooting environments, challenging conditions, and unforeseen logistical challenges.
- Ownership of professional-grade photography equipment (cameras, lenses, lighting, backups).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Photography, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or a closely related field.
- Experience with videography and video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) is a significant advantage.
- Membership in recognized professional photography associations or guilds.
- Specialized experience in niche commercial areas such as fashion, food, architectural, or drone photography.
- Proficiency in additional creative software or project management tools.
