Career.supersecrets is actively seeking a highly skilled and creatively driven freelance Photographer specializing in both event and commercial photography. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented individual based in Lokogoma, Abuja, to collaborate with a diverse range of clients, capturing compelling visuals that tell stories and elevate brands. As a freelance photographer, you will be instrumental in documenting significant moments at various events – from corporate functions and conferences to social gatherings and public spectacles – as well as producing high-quality imagery for commercial purposes, including product shots, corporate portraits, marketing campaigns, and architectural photography. We are looking for an individual with an artistic eye, strong technical proficiency, and a proven ability to deliver exceptional results under varying conditions. The ideal candidate will possess their own professional-grade equipment, be adept at post-production, and demonstrate excellent communication skills to understand and execute client visions. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their specific photography needs, objectives, and artistic vision for each project.
- Plan and execute photography sessions for various events (corporate, social, public) and commercial assignments (product, lifestyle, portraiture, architectural).
- Utilize professional photography equipment and techniques to capture high-resolution, visually appealing images.
- Manage lighting, composition, and camera settings effectively to achieve desired aesthetic and technical quality.
- Perform extensive post-production editing, including colour correction, retouching, cropping, and general image enhancement using industry-standard software.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality edited images to clients in specified formats and resolutions.
- Maintain and manage personal photography equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition.
- Adhere to project timelines and budget requirements.
- Build and maintain a strong professional relationship with clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
- Continuously update skills and knowledge of new photography trends, equipment, and software.
- Provide creative input and suggestions to clients to enhance project outcomes.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in professional-grade camera equipment (DSLR/Mirrorless) and various lenses.
- Expertise in photography techniques, including lighting, composition, and exposure.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or other professional editing software.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in both event and commercial photography.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and project understanding.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
- A keen eye for detail, creativity, and artistic vision.
- Solid understanding of image file formats, resolution, and digital asset management.
- Reliable personal transportation for travel to various shoot locations within Abuja.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with studio lighting setups and portable flash systems.
- Knowledge of videography and video editing is a plus.
- Prior experience working as a freelance photographer with a diverse client base.
