Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our team in Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications, ensuring proper dosage, labeling, and patient instructions.
- Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, addressing questions about prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, and health conditions.
- Administer immunizations and other patient care services as authorized by state and federal regulations.
- Conduct medication therapy management (MTM) reviews to optimize patient outcomes and identify potential drug-related problems.
- Oversee and guide pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to protocols.
- Maintain precise patient records and inventory control, complying with all HIPAA regulations and pharmacy laws.
- Collaborate with prescribers and other healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues and ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in community health initiatives and promote CVS Health's wellness programs.
- Uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and patient confidentiality.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of California.
- Proficiency in pharmacy operating systems and general computer applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing and record-keeping.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional patient counseling and customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (2+ years) as a Pharmacist in a retail pharmacy setting.
- Immunization certification and experience administering vaccines.
- Experience with medication therapy management (MTM) services.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience with CVS Health's pharmacy systems (e.g., RxConnect).
