Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for healthcare and customer service? Brighton Chemist is looking for a dedicated Pharmacist Assistant to join our growing team in Habaswein. In this crucial role, you will work closely with our licensed pharmacists to ensure the efficient operation of the pharmacy, providing essential support in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and offering exceptional service to our valued customers. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing prescribed medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring patient safety.
  • Receive, verify, and store pharmaceutical supplies and over-the-counter products.
  • Maintain organized inventory, monitor stock levels, and prepare orders for replenishment.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and assisting with product selection.
  • Process patient prescriptions and insurance claims with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Prepare medication labels and maintain proper patient records.
  • Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in compounding medications under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, if applicable.
  • Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate daily sales records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding medication usage, side effects, and storage.
  • Adhere strictly to all pharmaceutical guidelines, policies, and ethical standards.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer literacy for inventory and record management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and ethical conduct.
  • Proficiency in English and Swahili.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Pharmaceutical Technology or a related medical field.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management software systems.
  • Knowledge of common pharmaceutical products and medical terminology.
  • Ability to speak local languages such as Somali.
