Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medication, ensuring strict adherence to physician orders, pharmaceutical standards, and patient safety protocols.
- Provide comprehensive patient counseling on medication use, including dosage, potential side effects, interactions, storage, and general health advice.
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal service delivery.
- Maintain strict adherence to all pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines set by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) and internal company policies.
- Manage and monitor pharmacy stock levels, including ordering, receiving, proper storage, and inventory control of medicines and health products.
- Supervise, mentor, and train pharmacy support staff (e.g., Pharmacy Assistants, Dispensary Assistants) to ensure high standards of service and professional conduct.
- Resolve patient queries and concerns efficiently and with empathy, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Participate in continuous professional development (CPD) activities to maintain and enhance professional competency and stay abreast of new developments in pharmacy practice.
- Contribute to the overall profitability and operational efficiency of the pharmacy through effective resource management and customer service excellence.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree or equivalent.
- Current and valid registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
- Minimum of 2 years post-internship experience as a registered Pharmacist.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills, with a strong patient-centric approach.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software and general computer literacy.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong ethical compass and commitment to professional integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a high-volume retail pharmacy setting.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a pharmacy team.
- Fluency in isiZulu or other local languages commonly spoken in KwaZulu-Natal.
- Experience with Clicks' internal systems and procedures.
