Job Description

Oando PLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Petroleum Engineer to join our growing team in Ibadan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in all aspects of petroleum engineering, from exploration and production to reservoir management and optimization. This role demands a strong understanding of reservoir simulation, drilling operations, production enhancement techniques, and project management principles. You will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency and profitability across our operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and contributing to the company’s overall strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving and communication skills, able to collaborate effectively within a team and across different departments. You will be given the opportunity to work on challenging and rewarding projects, influencing the future of the energy sector in Nigeria. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct reservoir simulation studies and provide recommendations for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques.
  • Develop and implement well completion and stimulation strategies to optimize production.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Manage and monitor drilling operations, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project timelines.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and specialists to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in petroleum engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG).
  • Strong understanding of drilling operations and well completion techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and environmental standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional registration with a relevant engineering body.
  • Experience working in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
  • Experience with EOR techniques.
  • Experience with production optimization software.
