Are you an experienced and highly dependable driver looking for a long-term, live-in opportunity with a private employer in Ikorodu, Lagos? This is a unique chance to become an indispensable part of a household, providing seamless transportation services and contributing to the daily comfort and efficiency of your employer. As a Personal Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, timely, and comfortable travel for your employer and their family members, primarily within Lagos and occasionally to other states. This role extends beyond mere driving; it requires a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and a proactive approach to vehicle management and personal assistance.
Your duties will include daily school runs, executive transport to meetings, facilitating errands, and ensuring the vehicle is always in pristine condition, both mechanically and aesthetically. Given the live-in arrangement, you will be provided with comfortable accommodation and meals, allowing you to be readily available for scheduled and ad-hoc transportation needs. We are looking for an individual who embodies trust, respect, and an unwavering commitment to safety. You must be adept at navigating Lagos traffic, possessing an excellent knowledge of major routes, alternative paths, and adherence to all traffic regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and punctually transport employer and family members to various destinations.
- Maintain the vehicle(s) in excellent condition, including regular cleaning, fueling, and scheduling maintenance/repairs.
- Perform daily vehicle checks (tyre pressure, oil, water, brakes, etc.).
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage, packages, and groceries as required.
- Run errands, including shopping, post office visits, and other tasks as directed.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and ensure passenger safety at all times.
- Plan efficient routes, considering traffic conditions and alternative paths.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion regarding the employer's private affairs.
- Be available for flexible working hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as per employer's schedule.
- Keep accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and service history.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class B minimum).
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional driving experience.
- Impeccable driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks, shortcuts, and traffic patterns.
- Strong understanding of basic vehicle mechanics and routine maintenance.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- High level of discretion, trustworthiness, and integrity.
- Clear communication skills (English) and polite demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a household team.
- Physical fitness to perform duties such as lifting luggage and vehicle cleaning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a personal or executive driver for a private household.
