Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly professional, reliable, and experienced Personal Driver to serve a private employer in the Ogba, Ikeja area. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated individual looking for a stable, long-term role with the added benefit of comfortable accommodation and daily meals provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and comfortable transportation of the employer and, at times, their guests, to various destinations across Lagos. As a Personal Driver, you will be an integral part of the employer’s daily life, necessitating a meticulous approach to your duties and a deep respect for privacy and confidentiality. Beyond driving, your responsibilities will extend to the meticulous maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is always in pristine condition and operational readiness. This includes routine checks, coordinating servicing, and addressing minor issues promptly. Knowledge of optimal routes within Lagos, particularly Ogba, Ikeja, and surrounding areas, is crucial, along with the ability to adapt to changing traffic conditions and schedules efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport the private employer and their guests to various destinations as required.
- Maintain the assigned vehicle’s cleanliness, both interior and exterior, to the highest standards daily.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure optimal operating condition (oil, water, tires, brakes, lights).
- Plan and execute optimal routes, considering traffic, road conditions, and security implications, using navigation tools effectively.
- Ensure all vehicle documents, including insurance and registration, are current and valid.
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage, groceries, or other items as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all Nigerian traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding the employer’s personal and business affairs.
- Be available for flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional public holidays, as per the employer's schedule.
- Coordinate and oversee vehicle servicing, repairs, and detailing appointments with trusted vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance logs.
- Represent the employer with professionalism, courtesy, and a tidy appearance at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (minimum Class E or G)
- Minimum of 4 years proven professional driving experience, preferably as a personal or corporate driver.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks, traffic patterns, and alternative routes, especially within Ogba, Ikeja and its environs.
- Strong defensive driving skills and a clean driving record.
- Basic vehicle mechanics and maintenance knowledge.
- Impeccable punctuality, reliability, and time management abilities.
