We are actively seeking a highly responsible, experienced, and professional Personal/Company Driver to become a valuable member of the Nembe Local Government Council team. Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and timely transportation for principal officers, staff, and official visitors to various destinations within Nembe and surrounding areas.
- Ensure all assigned vehicles are maintained in optimal working condition, including regular checks of fuel, oil, water, tires, brakes, and lights.
- Keep vehicle interiors and exteriors clean and presentable at all times.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report any mechanical issues, damages, or discrepancies.
- Strictly adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and the Nembe Local Government Council's transport policies.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, routes taken, and maintenance schedules.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of official documents, parcels, and materials as required.
- Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality regarding all official matters encountered during transportation duties.
- Be punctual for all scheduled assignments and flexible to accommodate changes in travel plans.
- Handle unexpected situations (e.g., flat tire, minor mechanical issues) with competence and calm.
- Represent the Nembe Local Government Council professionally and courteously to all contacts.
- Assist passengers with luggage and other needs as appropriate.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or G, with appropriate categories)
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional driving experience
- Thorough knowledge of Nembe, Bayelsa State, and surrounding road networks
- Excellent defensive driving skills and a clean driving record
- Basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge
- Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary
- High level of integrity and discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade Test Certificate in Auto Mechanics or equivalent qualification
