Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatrician to join our esteemed medical team at Jennie Stuart Health. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive primary healthcare for infants, children, and adolescents from birth through age 18. This role involves managing acute and chronic illnesses, conducting preventative care, performing regular check-ups, and offering guidance to parents on child development, nutrition, and safety. You will work within a supportive network of medical professionals, including nurses, specialists, and administrative staff, all committed to providing exceptional care. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary medical care to pediatric patients, including infants, children, and adolescents.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and developmental assessments.
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic health conditions common in pediatric populations.
- Administer childhood immunizations and provide anticipatory guidance to parents.
- Perform well-child check-ups and monitor growth and development.
- Educate parents and guardians on child health, safety, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in an electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, nurses, and therapists, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours care as required.
- Stay current with advancements in pediatric medicine and best practices through continuing medical education.
Required Skills
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency program.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics.
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Kentucky.
- Valid DEA registration.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect effectively with children and parents.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a community hospital or private practice setting.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Epic.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English and Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
