Job Description

Are you a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with a passion for precision and a solid understanding of payroll processes? Gripple Ltd, a dynamic and employee-owned manufacturing leader, is seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our finance team in Sheffield. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our diverse workforce, contributing directly to the well-being and satisfaction of our valued employees. Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, you will manage end-to-end payroll operations, from inputting data and calculating wages to handling deductions, ensuring compliance with all relevant UK legislation, and responding to employee queries with professionalism and discretion. Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll for all employees accurately and efficiently using designated payroll software.
  • Ensure timely payment of salaries, wages, and other employee remunerations.
  • Administer statutory deductions including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and student loans, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Process new starters, leavers, and changes to employee records, including contractual amendments and variations.
  • Manage and reconcile payroll data, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Respond to and resolve payroll-related queries from employees and managers with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports for internal stakeholders and external authorities.
  • Administer company pension schemes, including auto-enrolment and contribution management.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation and ensure company compliance.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless information flow and process efficiency.
  • Assist with year-end payroll procedures and P60 production.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator (minimum 3 years).
  • Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP).
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, IRIS, or similar systems).
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification or working towards it.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or similar fast-paced industry.
  • Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS) integration with payroll.
  • Experience with bespoke payroll reporting tools.
