Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to nursing staff promptly.
- Support patient comfort by maintaining clean and organized patient rooms and common areas.
- Assist with patient transportation within the facility for appointments, tests, or transfers.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive and reassuring environment.
- Help facilitate communication between patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Assist with basic medical procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, infection control policies, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Document care provided accurately and timely in patient records.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions.
- Respond to patient call signals promptly and courteously.
- Assist in the preparation of patients for medical examinations and treatments.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a healthcare support role (e.g., caregiver, nursing assistant)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to show empathy, compassion, and patience
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care principles
- Physical stamina to assist with patient mobility and stand for extended periods
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in patient care, nursing assistant, or a related field
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting
- First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in Arabic or other languages commonly spoken in the UAE
