MingHin Cuisine in Chinatown, Chicago, is seeking an exceptionally talented and innovative Pastry Chef to lead our dessert program. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a diverse menu of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods, suitable for a Hong Kong-style restaurant.
- Oversee daily production, ensuring all items meet MingHin Cuisine's standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs while minimizing waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pastry station in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior pastry staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to integrate dessert offerings with the overall menu.
- Research and develop new dessert concepts, techniques, and recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
- Ensure efficient workflow and production schedules to meet the demands of a high-volume restaurant.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or a similar role in a high-volume kitchen setting.
- Exceptional creativity and a passion for pastry arts.
- Proficiency in various pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, tempering chocolate, and sugar work.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
