Sylvan Learning of Dunwoody is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Tutor to join our team of educational specialists. As a Sylvan Tutor, you will play a crucial role in delivering personalized instruction to students across various academic levels, primarily focusing on Math, Reading, and Writing, along with Study Skills. This is more than just a teaching position; it’s an opportunity to mentor, inspire, and empower students to overcome academic challenges and discover their true potential.
You will work with students in a small-group, personalized setting, implementing Sylvan’s proven instructional methods and proprietary curriculum. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized, Sylvan-guided instruction to students in elementary through high school.
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve academic success and build self-confidence.
- Implement Sylvan's proven teaching methods and proprietary curriculum.
- Administer and interpret diagnostic assessments to inform instructional plans.
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with the Center Director and parents.
- Maintain a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles and needs.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during instruction.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (e.g., Mathematics, English, Sciences)
- Strong knowledge of K-12 curriculum in Math, Reading, and/or Writing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds and age groups
- Passion for education and student success
- Ability to work flexible part-time hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid teaching certification or experience in a classroom setting
- Previous tutoring or mentoring experience
