Ritco is seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and experienced Part-Time Driver to join our dynamic team in Butare, Southern Province. As a Part-Time Driver, you will be primarily responsible for executing safe, efficient, and consistently courteous transportation for various operational needs, which may encompass scheduled staff transfers, timely parcel and document deliveries, or specific short-haul logistical assignments. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport personnel, documents, or goods to designated locations within Butare and the surrounding Southern Province, adhering to scheduled timelines.
- Maintain the vehicle, whether company-provided or personal, in a clean, presentable, and excellent working condition, performing routine checks before and after each trip (tyres, oil, fuel, lights, brakes).
- Adhere strictly to all Rwandan traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies to ensure the utmost safety of passengers, cargo, and pedestrians.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, travel times, and vehicle maintenance, submitting reports as required by management.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with Ritco staff, supervisors, and any passengers or clients, providing updates on travel status or any encountered issues.
- Assist with loading and unloading of parcels or goods when necessary, ensuring items are secured safely during transit.
- Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate varying schedules and adapt to unforeseen changes in routes or assignments.
Required Skills
- Valid Rwandan driving license (Category B minimum) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of professional driving experience.
- Thorough knowledge of Butare city roads, traffic regulations, and the Southern Province regional network.
- Strong understanding and commitment to road safety principles and defensive driving techniques.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure punctuality.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English and/or Kinyarwanda.
- Reliability, trustworthiness, and a high degree of personal responsibility.
- Physical ability to perform routine vehicle checks and assist with loading/unloading if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ownership of a well-maintained, insured, and reliable vehicle (sedan, SUV, or minivan) suitable for transport services.
