Key Responsibilities
- Assist Head Chefs and other culinary staff in the preparation and cooking of various dishes, adhering to established recipes and quality standards.
- Perform mise en place tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing meats, and portioning ingredients accurately.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness, including regular cleaning of workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Monitor food inventory, assist with stock rotation, and inform supervisors of supply needs to ensure smooth operation.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions or issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and health standards.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper organization and temperature control.
- Support dishwashing duties and general kitchen upkeep during busy periods.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful kitchen environment, upholding teamwork and communication.
Required Skills
- Proven experience of at least 1 year in a kitchen environment, ideally as a cook or kitchen assistant.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary methods.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP principles preferred).
