Job Description

Career.supersecrets is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Junior Paralegal to join our growing team with flexible remote options. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring legal professional looking to gain significant practical experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. Based in Derby, with the flexibility to work remotely for part of the week, you will play a crucial role in assisting our legal team across various practice areas.

As a Junior Paralegal, you will be immersed in the day-to-day operations of a bustling legal practice. We understand that this may be one of your first steps into the legal world, and we are dedicated to providing thorough training and mentorship to help you excel. Your responsibilities will span from conducting vital legal research to preparing documents, managing case files, and interacting with clients under supervision. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough legal research using various databases and resources to support case preparation.
  • Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports under supervision.
  • Assist with case management, including organising and maintaining physical and electronic client files.
  • Support solicitors in preparing for hearings, trials, and client meetings.
  • Liaise with clients, courts, and third parties to gather information and facilitate communication, always under guidance.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing diaries, and handling incoming communications.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict ethical guidelines and data protection regulations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental processes and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Law Degree (LLB) or Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL).

  • Familiarity with legal case management software.
  • Understanding of basic legal principles and terminology.
