We are searching for an experienced and proactive Paralegal to join a busy and expanding legal team. In this pivotal role, you will provide comprehensive support to solicitors and legal executives across a diverse range of practice areas, including but not limited to, property law (residential and commercial conveyancing), private client matters (wills, probate, powers of attorney), and civil litigation. Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting legal research using various online and offline resources, summarising findings for solicitors.
  • Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and court forms with precision and accuracy.
  • Assisting with case preparation, including collating evidence, preparing bundles, and managing discovery processes.
  • Liaising with clients, barristers, courts, and other external parties, maintaining professional communication at all times.
  • Managing and organising electronic and physical case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Attending client meetings, court hearings, and conferences, taking detailed notes and providing support.
  • Processing legal aid applications and private client billing where applicable.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks to ensure the efficient running of the department.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to professional conduct rules.
  • Supporting fee earners with time recording and billing procedures.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Paralegal within a legal practice or in-house legal department.
  • Excellent understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting a range of legal documents.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities.
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Paralegal qualification (e.g., CILEx, Paralegal Diploma, LLB/GDL).
  • Experience in property law, private client work, or civil litigation.
  • Familiarity with case management software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis, Proclaim).
  • Knowledge of local court procedures in Kent.
  • Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle.
