Key Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces for painting, including scraping, sanding, patching, and cleaning to ensure optimal adhesion and a flawless finish.
- Applying primer, paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray guns with precision and efficiency.
- Mixing and matching paints to achieve desired colors and textures, accurately estimating material requirements to minimize waste.
- Safely erecting and dismantling scaffolding, ladders, and other access equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Operating, cleaning, and maintaining various painting equipment and tools, ensuring their good working order.
- Inspecting completed work for quality assurance, ensuring smooth, even coatings, proper color matching, and adherence to specifications.
- Protecting surrounding areas by covering furniture, floors, and other surfaces to prevent paint splatters and damage.
- Following all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to waste disposal regulations.
- Collaborating effectively with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion and smooth workflow.
- Performing minor surface repairs (e.g., filling cracks, holes) prior to painting.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the project and properly disposing of waste materials.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Painter in commercial or industrial settings.
- Excellent knowledge of painting materials, surface preparation, and application techniques.
- Solid understanding of painting tools and equipment, including various types of sprayers.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong eye for color and finish quality.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks requiring standing, bending, lifting, and working at heights.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational training or technical certification in painting or surface finishing.
- Previous experience in industrial painting, particularly within oil & gas, petrochemical, or large infrastructure projects.
- Valid UAE driving license.
- Proficiency in English communication; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
