Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and patching holes and cracks, ensuring a smooth and clean base.
- Cover floors, furniture, and other surfaces with drop cloths and masking tape to protect them from paint splatters and damage.
- Assist lead painters in mixing, matching, and applying various types of paints, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Load and unload painting equipment, supplies, and materials from vehicles, safely transporting them to and from job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and accounted for after each use.
- Assist with the safe erection, movement, and dismantling of scaffolding, ladders, and other access equipment.
- Strictly follow all company and industry safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress, material needs, and any potential challenges.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the lead painter or project supervisor to ensure efficient project completion.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures and a strong willingness to follow all safety protocols diligently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team and diligently follow instructions from supervisors.
