As an Operations Manager, Onshore & Offshore at MSC, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing and overseeing our complex logistical operations, spanning both land-based and sea-based activities. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize daily onshore and offshore operational activities, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor operational strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance service quality across all logistical touchpoints.
- Manage a diverse team of operations specialists, coordinators, and supervisors, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate effectively with various internal departments (e.g., commercial, finance, HR) and external stakeholders (e.g., port authorities, customs, suppliers, clients).
- Lead the planning and execution of vessel scheduling, cargo handling, terminal operations, and multimodal transport solutions (road, rail).
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, develop contingency plans, and ensure business continuity during unforeseen disruptions.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, fostering a strong safety culture.
- Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in maritime and logistics sectors.
- Manage operational budgets, control expenses, and report on financial performance related to operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably within the maritime, shipping, or global logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of both onshore (terminal, warehouse, land transport) and offshore (vessel, port, cargo) operational processes.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency in operational management software and ERP systems.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related field.

- Experience with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and maritime law.
