Job Description

Garki Hospital Abuja, a leading healthcare institution dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and promoting community well-being, is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nutritionist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a vital member of our clinical staff, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the health outcomes of our patients through evidence-based nutritional interventions. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a significant impact within a dynamic and supportive hospital environment.

At Garki Hospital Abuja, we believe that holistic patient care extends beyond medical treatment to encompass optimal nutrition. Our nutritionists work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to develop personalized dietary plans for patients with diverse health conditions, from chronic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular disease to acute illnesses, surgical recovery, and maternal-child health. You will be instrumental in assessing nutritional status, identifying dietary needs, and formulating tailored nutritional therapies that support recovery, manage disease progression, and promote long-term wellness.

Your expertise will not only focus on direct patient care but also extend to patient and family education. You will empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to make informed dietary choices, fostering sustainable healthy eating habits both during their hospital stay and upon discharge. This involves conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, developing educational materials, and facilitating group workshops. Furthermore, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our nutritional services by staying abreast of the latest research in dietetics, participating in clinical audits, and recommending updates to our dietary protocols. Beyond direct patient interaction, the role involves maintaining meticulous patient records, ensuring compliance with all relevant health regulations and ethical guidelines, and actively participating in team meetings to review patient progress and optimize care strategies. Your analytical insights will be crucial in evaluating the effectiveness of dietary interventions and adapting approaches as necessary to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
