Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care in accordance with established clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to prescribed dosages and routes.
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatments, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Participate in ward rounds, handover sessions, and contribute to care planning meetings.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment.
  • Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their rights and preferences are respected.
  • Support junior staff and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Required Skills

  • Current and valid nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the UK, or eligibility to register.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification nursing experience in a relevant clinical setting.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in administering medications and performing clinical procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centred approach.
  • Basic IT literacy for electronic patient records.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in the UK healthcare system.
  • Specialist qualifications or certifications in areas such as Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, or Learning Disability Nursing.
  • Experience with electronic patient record systems.
  • Advanced life support certification.
