Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and retrieve products from designated warehouse locations based on order sheets and system directives.
- Verify product numbers, quantities, and ensure all items are free from damage before packaging and staging.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment such as manual pallet jacks or trolleys; certification for powered equipment (e.g., forklifts) is a plus, with training potentially provided.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of inbound and outbound deliveries as required, adhering strictly to all safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift, including proper waste disposal and hazard reporting.
- Report any discrepancies in inventory, damaged goods, or equipment malfunctions promptly to the shift supervisor.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and standard operational procedures to ensure a secure and efficient environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily picking, packing, and dispatch targets efficiently.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistently and reliably during night shifts (typically 9 PM – 6 AM or similar hours).
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in picking, counting, and verifying products.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 25 kg repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills to accurately read and interpret order sheets and product labels.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to team goals.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, logistics, or similar picking/packing role.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or handheld scanners is an advantage.
- Valid certification to operate pallet jacks or forklifts (though not strictly required, it is a significant plus).
- High school diploma or Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
