Job Description
Slum2School Africa is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and dedicated NGO (Education) Administrator to join our dynamic team in Surulere, Lagos. This vital role will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our educational programs and administrative functions. As an Education Administrator, you will be the backbone of our operational efficiency, providing critical support to program managers, educators, and volunteers, thereby directly contributing to our mission of providing quality education to underserved children.
You will manage a wide array of administrative tasks, from coordinating program logistics and managing office supplies to maintaining accurate records and facilitating communication across various departments. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a genuine passion for education and community development. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain office supplies and equipment inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels for smooth operations.
- Coordinate logistics for educational programs, workshops, and community outreach events, including venue booking, material preparation, and participant registration.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate databases of student records, volunteer information, and program data.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Handle all incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, phone calls, and official correspondence, ensuring timely and professional responses.
- Support the finance department with basic bookkeeping, expense tracking, and invoice processing related to educational initiatives.
- Facilitate internal communication channels, ensuring information flow between program teams, volunteers, and management.
- Oversee the proper filing and archiving of all administrative documents, both physical and digital.
- Provide administrative support to senior management and program managers as required, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures in all administrative activities.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of administrative or office management experience, preferably within an NGO or educational setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated passion for education and social development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience with database management systems or CRM software.
- Familiarity with local communities in Lagos, particularly Surulere.
- Previous experience working with volunteers or community development programs.
