Ooredoo Kuwait is seeking a highly skilled, passionate, and experienced Network Engineer to join our innovative and fast-paced team. As a Network Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our robust and critical network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices.
- Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and proactively identify and resolve complex network issues to ensure optimal network uptime and reliability.
- Configure, manage, and continuously enhance network security systems to protect data, systems, and network perimeter from evolving threats.
- Participate in the planning, testing, and seamless deployment of new network services, technologies, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Perform regular network audits, apply necessary updates, and conduct upgrades to ensure all systems are current, secure, and performing efficiently.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, operational processes, and incident response procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot technical issues and integrate innovative new solutions.
- Respond promptly to network incidents and provide timely resolution, often requiring on-call support outside of normal business hours.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant corporate policies, operational procedures, and telecommunications regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other IT staff members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, VLANs, and other core networking protocols.
- Proficiency with network hardware from leading vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, or similar.
- Extensive experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Wireshark).
- Solid understanding of network security principles and hands-on experience with firewall management (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills for complex network environments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, JNCIP, or equivalent vendor-specific credentials.
- Experience with cloud networking platforms (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNet, GCP Cloud VPN).
- Knowledge of scripting languages for network automation (e.g., Python, Ansible, Shell scripting).
- Familiarity with telecommunications specific network elements (e.g., mobile core networks, fixed-line access networks, IPTV infrastructure).
- Prior experience working in a large-scale telecommunications service provider environment.
- Proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
