As a Mobile Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures for mobile applications across various platforms, including iOS and Android. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis on mobile applications (iOS/Android).
- Design and implement robust security solutions for mobile platforms, including secure coding guidelines and architectural reviews.
- Collaborate with development teams to embed security best practices throughout the SDLC (Secure Software Development Life Cycle).
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures for mobile application development and deployment.
- Research and stay current with the latest mobile security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
- Participate in security incident response for mobile-related issues, providing expertise and guidance.
- Evaluate and recommend security tools and technologies to enhance mobile application security.
- Provide expert advice and training to development and QA teams on mobile security principles and secure coding.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry security standards for mobile applications.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mobile application security or a related cybersecurity role.
- Strong understanding of iOS and Android operating system security models.
- Proficiency in mobile security testing tools and methodologies (e.g., MobSF, Frida, Burp Suite Mobile Assistant, OWASP Mobile Security Testing Guide).
- Solid knowledge of secure coding principles and common mobile application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Mobile Top 10).
- Experience with static (SAST) and dynamic (DAST) application security testing for mobile applications.
- Familiarity with cryptographic principles and their application in mobile security.
- Understanding of network security concepts as they apply to mobile communication.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., OSCP, CEH, CSSLP, GIAC Mobile Device Security Analyst).
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) or Mobile Application Management (MAM) solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles as applied to mobile backend services.
- Experience with threat modeling for mobile applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, Java, React Native, Flutter).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating security into automated workflows.
