In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of developing, enhancing, and maintaining the bunq mobile application, a core product relied upon by hundreds of thousands of users across Europe daily. You’ll work on complex features from the initial conception phase through to deployment, ensuring our app remains intuitive, secure, high-performing, and visually stunning. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain the bunq mobile applications (iOS/Android) using modern mobile development practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, robust, and maintainable code following best practices and bunq's coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and security.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency and enhance user experience.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software, ensuring optimal performance and stability.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions for mobile application development.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in mobile application development for iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java).
- Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Proficiency in integrating with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with both iOS and Android development.
