Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated, technically proficient, and experienced MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer to join our esteemed team in Kuwait. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the end-to-end process, from conceptual design to supervision and final execution, of sophisticated MEP systems for a diverse and challenging portfolio of construction projects. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all installations strictly adhere to both local regulatory frameworks, international engineering standards, and precise project specifications. A robust technical background, exceptional problem-solving acumen, and the proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams are essential. You will be instrumental in translating complex architectural and structural designs into highly functional, energy-efficient, and cost-effective MEP solutions, providing critical input from the initial conceptualization phase through to commissioning, testing, and ultimate project handover. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of comprehensive MEP system layouts, detailed schematics, and precise specifications for a variety of projects, encompassing HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and low/high voltage electrical systems.
- Conduct thorough load calculations, accurate system sizing, and optimal equipment selection in strict adherence to relevant international codes (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC) and local Kuwaiti standards, while meeting specific project requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive tender documents, detailed material submittals, and professional technical reports.
- Critically review and provide approval for shop drawings, material samples, and equipment data sheets submitted by contractors and suppliers, ensuring full compliance.
- Oversee and supervise on-site installation, rigorous testing, and final commissioning of all MEP systems to guarantee strict adherence to design specifications and uncompromising quality standards.
- Facilitate seamless coordination with architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, and all other relevant stakeholders to integrate MEP systems flawlessly into overall project designs.
- Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues and design discrepancies across all project phases.
- Conduct regular site inspections and stringent quality checks, maintaining comprehensive progress reports and compiling detailed snag lists.
- Ensure absolute compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices on site.
- Actively participate in client meetings, providing expert technical support and guidance.
- Effectively manage project timelines, allocate resources, and control budgets specifically related to MEP components.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience as an MEP Engineer within the construction industry, with a demonstrable track record on large-scale projects.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard engineering design software (e.g., HAP, Elite, Dialux, ETAP).
- Comprehensive knowledge of international and local MEP codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, NEC, KOC guidelines).
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proven ability to excel both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, fast-paced project environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in site supervision, stringent quality control, and intricate project coordination.
- Valid Kuwaiti driving license is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent professional certification.
- Extensive experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows and software integration.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience in project management.
- LEED Green Associate or other recognized sustainability certifications.
