Are you an experienced and dynamic MEP Engineer passionate about designing sustainable and efficient building systems? KEO International Consultants is seeking a talented MEP Engineer to join our thriving team in Kuwait. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for a diverse portfolio of landmark projects, ranging from commercial complexes and residential towers to institutional facilities and infrastructure developments.
As an MEP Engineer at KEO, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of MEP design, from conceptualization and feasibility studies through detailed design, tender documentation, and construction supervision. You will work closely with architects, structural engineers, project managers, and clients, ensuring seamless integration of MEP systems with architectural and structural elements while adhering to local and international codes and standards. This role demands a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and energy-efficient solutions.
You will be involved in calculations, sizing, and specification of HVAC systems, plumbing networks, fire protection systems, and low-voltage electrical distribution. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive MEP systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Protection, Electrical Power, Lighting, Low Current) for various building types.
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, and tender documents in accordance with project requirements and relevant codes.
- Coordinate effectively with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines to ensure full system integration and clash resolution.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide technical support during the construction phase, addressing RFIs and reviewing shop drawings.
- Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing components.
- Ensure all designs comply with local regulations (e.g., Kuwait Municipality, Ministry of Electricity & Water) and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, BS).
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials and equipment, considering performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and contribute to project presentations.
- Participate in client meetings, present design concepts, and address technical queries.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and development.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in MEP design for building projects.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, ETAP, Dialux).
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and international standards related to MEP systems.
- Demonstrated ability to perform load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent (e.g., KSE membership).
- LEED AP or other sustainability accreditations.
- Experience with advanced building energy modeling software.
- Fluency in Arabic is an advantage.
- Prior experience working on large-scale projects in the GCC region.
