Job Description

Career.supersecrets is proud to partner with leading mental health services in Oxford, Oxfordshire, to recruit dedicated and experienced Mental Health Practitioners. This vital role involves providing high-quality, evidence-based mental health support and interventions to individuals and groups across various settings. You will work within multidisciplinary teams, assessing complex mental health needs, developing personalised care plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to promote recovery and well-being. The successful candidate will have a profound understanding of mental health conditions, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments, for individuals and groups.
  • Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with clients, their families, and carers.
  • Provide a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT, psychoeducation, brief solution-focused therapy).
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, promoting engagement and positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely client records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
  • Act as an advocate for clients, connecting them with appropriate community resources and support networks.
  • Actively participate in clinical supervision, continuing professional development, and team meetings.
  • Contribute to safeguarding duties and ensure adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in mental health assessment and intervention in a clinical setting.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of common mental health conditions and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client and team interaction.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage a caseload, and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in developing and managing comprehensive and person-centred care plans.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to care for diverse client populations.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding principles, risk management, and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Valid professional registration with a recognised body (e.g., NMC, HCPC, BACP, UKCP) appropriate to your background.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in a mental health-related field (e.g., CBT, counselling, psychotherapy).
  • Experience working with diverse client groups and across various age ranges.
  • Familiarity with local Oxford mental health services and community resources.
  • Experience in crisis intervention or acute mental health settings.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development, reflective practice, and service improvement.
