Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial client assessments to evaluate mental health needs, history, and current life situations.
- Provide individual and potentially group counseling sessions using evidence-based practices, primarily via telehealth platforms.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, focusing on achievable goals and measurable outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and team meetings to discuss client cases, refine clinical skills, and contribute to a collaborative learning environment.
- Refer clients to external resources and services as needed, such as psychiatrists, support groups, or social services, to ensure holistic care.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices, therapeutic modalities, and ethical guidelines in mental health counseling.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field.
- Provisional licensure (e.g., LPC-Associate, LCSW-Associate, LMFT-Associate) in Texas or actively pursuing it.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, active listening, and rapport-building abilities.
- Basic proficiency with technology for telehealth platforms and electronic health records.
- Understanding of ethical guidelines and professional standards in mental health counseling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, given the demographics of El Paso.
- Prior experience or practicum training with telehealth service delivery.
