Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate clients' mental health status, needs, and goals.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Provide individual and potentially group counseling sessions, offering support and guidance for various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, adhering to ethical and legal standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, external agencies, and families to ensure holistic client care and appropriate referrals.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and team meetings to enhance professional development and ensure quality of care.
- Engage in crisis intervention as needed, providing immediate support and resources to clients experiencing acute distress.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Eligibility for state licensure (e.g., LPC, LSW, MFT) in Ohio upon graduation or within a short timeframe.
- Strong foundational knowledge of mental health diagnoses, treatment modalities, and ethical guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, active listening, and rapport-building abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a practicum or internship setting involving direct client contact.
- Familiarity with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or other evidence-based practices.
