Key Responsibilities
- Receive, label, and process patient samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) accurately and according to established protocols.
- Prepare reagents and solutions, ensuring proper concentration and quality for laboratory tests.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, microscopes, and automated analyzers, under supervision.
- Perform routine diagnostic tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and urinalysis after adequate training.
- Adhere strictly to quality control procedures, documenting results and identifying deviations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, following all laboratory safety guidelines and regulations.
- Document test results accurately and completely, entering data into laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and identifying potential problems with samples or results.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance laboratory skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with senior technicians and supervisors regarding test results, issues, and workload.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong foundational knowledge of basic science principles (biology, chemistry).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions precisely.
- Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
