Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process biological specimens (blood, urine, tissue) for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently under supervision, adhering to established methodologies.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration, cleanliness, and functionality, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
  • Document test results and maintain accurate records in accordance with established protocols, regulatory requirements, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  • Adhere strictly to quality control procedures and laboratory safety guidelines, including the proper disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory supply inventory, restocking supplies, and ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with senior lab staff, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals regarding test results, abnormal findings, or equipment issues.
  • Participate actively in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in biology, chemistry, or related sciences (e.g., from high school or college coursework).
