Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process biological specimens (blood, urine, tissue) for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently under supervision, adhering to established methodologies.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration, cleanliness, and functionality, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Document test results and maintain accurate records in accordance with established protocols, regulatory requirements, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to quality control procedures and laboratory safety guidelines, including the proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory supply inventory, restocking supplies, and ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with senior lab staff, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals regarding test results, abnormal findings, or equipment issues.
