Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and urinalysis, following established procedures and protocols.
- Prepare and analyze patient samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) accurately and efficiently using various laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring proper calibration, function, and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Record and report test results promptly and accurately, maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Adhere to quality control and assurance procedures to ensure the reliability and validity of test results.
- Comply with all safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with laboratory best practices and advancements.
- Collaborate effectively with pathologists, medical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies and reagents.
Required Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of laboratory principles, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in performing tests and recording data.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
