Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient examinations, gather comprehensive medical histories, and perform physical assessments.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, providing appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Order, interpret, and critically evaluate diagnostic tests, including laboratory analyses and medical imaging studies.
- Develop and meticulously implement individualized treatment plans, which include prescribing medications and recommending appropriate therapies.
- Perform minor surgical procedures, wound care, and provide essential emergency medical interventions as required.
- Educate patients and their families comprehensively on health management, disease prevention strategies, and various treatment options.
- Collaborate effectively and respectfully with specialist physicians, nurses, and other allied healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date patient medical records in strict accordance with hospital policies, medical ethics, and regulatory guidelines.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, clinical rounds, and engage in continuous medical education programs and professional development activities.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, clinical protocols, and national healthcare regulations and standards.
- Contribute proactively to quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs within the hospital.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and emotional support to patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey.
Required Skills
- MBBS/MBBCh degree from a recognized and accredited medical institution.
- Full registration and possession of a current annual practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC clinical experience specifically in a hospital setting.
- Proven diagnostic and treatment skills across a diverse range of medical conditions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the innate ability to build rapport with patients, their families, and colleagues.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities in complex clinical scenarios.
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technologies.

Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate training or certifications in General Practice or Family Medicine (e.g., FWACP, MRCGP, or equivalent).
- Extensive experience working in a large tertiary or teaching hospital setting.
- Possession of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
- Fluency in multiple Nigerian languages (e.g., Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo) in addition to English.
