Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient examinations, diagnose illnesses, and provide appropriate medical treatment.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory analyses and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring adherence to best medical practices.
  • Prescribe medications and administer vaccinations as necessary.
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families on preventive care, disease management, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care when required.
  • Participate in continuing medical education and professional development activities to stay abreast of the latest medical advancements.
  • Adhere to all medical ethics, professional standards, and institutional policies.

Required Skills

  • MBBS or MBBCh degree from a recognized institution.
  • Current and valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC clinical experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficiency in common medical procedures and emergency care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialization or additional certifications in a medical field (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics).
  • Experience working in a primary healthcare setting or general hospital in Nigeria.
  • Proficiency in local languages spoken in Onitsha (e.g., Igbo) is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
